HEADS UP: the hi-lo is a bar where babies, small children and pets are allowed as long as they’re not overwhelmed in pubic spaces. you will need your I.D for entry to the bar. NA drinks are available. there is one step to go into the hi-lo and a side door at sidewalk level, there are no stairs inside. there are four bathrooms, two smell like piss and two are wheelchair accessible. you may vape or smoke cigarettes on the patio. the rest of us have to smoke in the street like the urchins we are. parking is first come, first serve on the street. the 94 on California drops you off in front via the stop at Thomas. the 70 on Division drops you off a few minutes walk north from the stop at California. the 66 on Chicago or the 65 on Grand will drop you off south both via the stop at California which is a ten to twelve minute walk or you can transfer to the 94 and get off at Thomas. you can bring or order your own food to the hi-lo. if we’re lucky, Claudio the Tamale Guy will be walking around :)
